I mentioned this blouse last Friday. This is part of my stash reduction challenge.
The pattern is Simplicity 2892, view A. The fabric is a vintage poly-blend I got at an estate sale. I can’t decide if I like the blouse or not. Is the combination of this fabric with this pattern a good one? Does the entire thing look like it came out of the 70’s? In a good way or a bad way? One thing I know for sure is that I don’t like wearing these sleeves. I still like the drawing on the pattern envelope, and this looks a good bit like it, but they feel way too big when being worn. So I’ll be donating this top.

Very cute! I think it does need to be from a more drapey fabric to look like the pattern pictures. Maybe rayon challis? That’s my favorite for clothes for myself, to sew and to wear. I love the neckline and your sewing looks very nice. I’m so glad someone is sewing up some stash

Can the sleeve be recut to get rid of the puff?

The sleeve has two pieces- one inner sleeve that is cut like a typical plain sleeve and is shorter than the outer part, which is longer and wide at the hem. If I hadn’t already trimmed and finished the seam allowances, maybe it could be taken apart and the inner piece turned right side out and used as a sleeve. The pattern uses the same blouse pieces for the sleeveless version, so the armscye is narrow enough to do w/o the sleeve, but again, the SA’s are already trimmed and finished. I may try this again w/o sleeves, because I think it’s a cute shirt. And I think I’ll try the other blouse in the pattern, too. Thanks for the comments! I love to get comments!

I think the puff sleeves don’t quite match you…But you look good anyway – you are young and attractive.
