We’ve had several days of life upheaval. Last night and this morning our computer has been acting up. I’m not sure what’s wrong, but it’s been difficult to type anything. I’ll try to post later today and then keep up daily, but if I can’t then I won’t.

Charlie “shaves” Josiah’s face with the back side of the razor.

It was a collaborative effort.

Tasha Tudor has a website.

The girls got us all going this evening by asking to wear bandanas.

Mr. Blue Eyes is still young enough to want to do whatever his sisters do.

Then Daddy and Mama got in on the act.

Even Esther wore one.

Well, for a minute or two, anyway.

If you enjoy looking at old clothes, or costumes, or history you will probably enjoy looking at the costumes from several Victorian era balls that were held in Canada.

UK Volkswagen customers can now design their own cars. Sort of. It’s fun to play with, anyway.

HT:Springwise , which is it’s own fascinating site.

These are the pants I made for Charlie last month. They are the first pants, other than lounge-type pants, that I’ve made. It was my first time putting in a zipper fly, making this sort of waistband, and making a pocket welt. They are made from gray twill a friend gave me. I used Kwik Sew 3267. I really like Kwik Sew patterns. They are well-drafted and the instructions are usually very good. The instructions for these pants were not as clear about the waistband as they should have been. I had to rip off the first waistband and make another one. But I still ended up with better results than I would expect when using a pattern from one of the “big three” pattern companies.

My only concern, now these are finished, is that they may be too long. Any opinions?

Immortal, invisible, God only wise,
In light inaccessible hid from our eyes,
Most blessèd, most glorious, the Ancient of Days,
Almighty, victorious, Thy great Name we praise.

Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,
Nor wanting, nor wasting, Thou rulest in might;
Thy justice, like mountains, high soaring above
Thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.

To all, life Thou givest, to both great and small;
In all life Thou livest, the true life of all;
We blossom and flourish as leaves on the tree,
And wither and perish—but naught changeth Thee.

Great Father of glory, pure Father of light,
Thine angels adore Thee, all veiling their sight;
But of all Thy rich graces this grace, Lord, impart
Take the veil from our faces, the vile from our heart.

All laud we would render; O help us to see
’Tis only the splendor of light hideth Thee,
And so let Thy glory, Almighty, impart,
Through Christ in His story, Thy Christ to the heart.
